Whether an entire region is devastated by a storm or a handful of families are displaced by a flood, Americans know they can trust Red Cross volunteers to help those affected by finding them a place to stay and providing for their immediate needs until they can do so on their own.

You can join the 83,000 Red Cross volunteers that respond to more than 67,000 disasters each year by following some simple steps.

Get Started

• Call April EagleBoy at 414-342-8680 or fill out our volunteer interest form.
• Fill out an application and initiate your background check.
• Interview with a Disaster Services program coordinator. Be sure to bring a photo ID to this meeting.

Get trained

• Take the Introduction to Disaster Services course online.
• Enroll in local Disaster Services courses that will ready you to respond to disasters in your area and across the country. Some of these courses may require a few hours of your time at a chapter office, while others can be accessed via the internet.
