Walworth County Department of Health and Human Services – Community Support Program (CSP)

Walworth County Department of Health and Human Services portraitWalworth County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has made numerous changes to available mental health services. The advent of the Community Support Program (CSP) in November 2006 exemplifies the county’s new philosophy of non-restrictive, community-based, recovery services. This program has helped to create a dynamic shift in how consumers with severe and persistent mental illness are viewed and how services are provided.

Because of the twenty-four hour a day, seven-day-a-week wrap around services, CSP consumers have had less hospital stays and feel like vital members of their communities. Many of them have been able to start working as a result of the program. More than 50% of the consumers in this program have worked in their community during the past year.
