Grace Merrill portraitGrace Merrill was nominated because of her seemingly endless career in both health care and rescue service. She has worked for 50 years as a nurse and served for more than 25 years on the Salem Rescue Squad. She has also helped with other Kenosha County Township Rescue Services.

This dedicated woman has given endless hours back to the community as a CPR and First Responder Instructor, and is also training the next generation of responders as an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor at Gateway Technical College. As a board member of the Wisconsin EMS Society, she volunteers numerous hours each year planning and facilitating the statewide continuing education conference. Grace is definitely a hero among us!
