Dan Allemand: Emergency Response Hero

Daniel Allemand and his wife were out driving when he noticed smoke coming from a home in their neighborhood.  Allemand, an off duty Kenosha firefighter, quickly sprang into action.  Parking the car, he ran to the home pounding on the door and ringing the bell to check for occupants, while his wife called 911.  A woman answered the door, totally unaware of the threat surrounding her.  Working with a calm, but extreme urgency, Allemand alerted the woman to the danger, asking who else might be in the house. The woman quickly retrieved her grandson and Allemand led them out to safety. Within minutes the Kenosha Fire Department was on the scene, extinguishing the blaze that would have gone unnoticed by the occupants and which could have been very fatal.
