Kenira Scott’s quick thinking helped save her and 4 siblings and cousins from their burning home on Milwaukee’s northwest side.  Waking up to the feeling of extreme heat, she was hit with thick smoke and fire coming into the room from the doorway.  Knowing the only way out was through a window; Kenira quickly woke her younger sisters and cousins, lifted the window and lowered each down to the first floor roof.  There, with the help of her uncle, each child jumped into the safety of waiting neighbors, before jumping herself.  “It was scary,” said Scott.
