Purpose To introduce instructor candidates to the history, structure and activities of the American Red Cross. To prepare instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross specialty courses to diverse populations. To introduce instructor candidates to the policies and procedures of the American Red Cross to ensure consistency, quality and appropriate training. Length Approximately 5 hours (based on no more than 20 instructor candidates). Instructor An authorized American Red Cross instructor trainer and/or designated national instructor. Certification Requirements
Certificate Issued and Validity Period Fundamentals of Instructor Training - An instructor candidate must complete an instructor specialty course within one year of completing Fundamentals of Instructor Training. The certificate remains valid as long as an individual holds a current national or nationally approved American Red Cross instructor authorization.
