Tri-County Brave Hearts PDF Print E-mail

The American Red Cross Tri-County Area Brave Hearts event is an opportunity to recognize individuals who have performed extraordinary acts of courage and kindness in Kenosha, Racine and Walworth counties. The event is scheduled for June 2010.

The American Red Cross solicits individual nominations and focuses on acts of courage or kindness in the following categories:

  • Community Hero- This hero is a lay person who used personal knowledge and/or skills to come to the aid of another person. The nominee either used lifesaving skills such as CPR, water rescue or first aid to assist someone in crisis or reached out to help someone by providing a safe and secure environment to aid in the person’s well-being. Or, this nominee is involved in an ongoing effort where they are committed to the community through an act(s) of kindness, courage or unselfishness in response to an identified need.
  • Emergency Response Hero- This nominee is a professional/volunteer serving as a law enforcement official, fire fighter, first responder, nurse, doctor, or other health care worker who was on or off duty at the time of the incident. This nominee exhibited heroism in his/her response to an emergency situation or is involved in an ongoing effort where they are committed to the community through an act(s) of kindness, courage or unselfishness in response to an identified need.
  • Corporate Hero- This nominee is a business which has made an impact in ensuring the health, safety and well-being of our community through philanthropic action, contributions or activities; employee volunteer activities and involvement in the community; or other community partnerships.
  • Student Hero- This nominee assisted in the time of crisis to help another person or worked toward the betterment of our community by taking action and serving as an example to other youth. This nominee should be either under the age of 18 or a college student.

American Red Cross First Aid, CPR & AED courses meet OSHA guidelines, and our instructors are trained in all facets of worksite safety. We set a date and location for training that is convenient for you, maintain your records and remind you when it is time to recertify. Workplace training programs are customized to your needs and include:

  • Training offered seven days a week, 24 hours a day

  • Recertification notification
