![]() Rosy's interactive presentation can bring a smile to any kid's face---and teach a valuable lesson. As a CDE team member and presenter Ricks travels to school fairs, youth group events and other youth- and community- oriented activities upon request. There she sets up exhibits and gives fascinating presentations on important topics like disaster preparedness and prevention, and provides Red Cross tips on a wide range of safety-related topics. Ricks joined the Red Cross as part of the Public Allies apprenticeship program, a program that identifies, trains and supports talented young adults from diverse backgrounds to lead positive community and social change. She is excited to have found such an ideal position to help her spread her very important message of safety to children in the community. As winter moves in, Ricks is concentrating on teaching kids about the dangers of the cold, snowy, icy weather, explaining the importance of paying attention to their surroundings and to their bodies to avoid frostbite and hypothermia. And with the holiday season and the related increase in residential fires, fire safety is also at the top of her list. Interested? Ricks and the Red Cross CDE team offer many valuable disaster education presentations and programs, all free of charge, and will come directly to you. Here are some of the topics they could present to your group: Building a Family Disaster Supplies Kit Burning Issues When The Lights Go Out When The Winds Blow And The Waters Rise Together We Prepare For a full list of topics or if you would like to request a presentation from Ricks, you can use our contact form or give her a call at 414-345-8692. |
