Grade:  11 (Exempt)

Reports to:  Director, Disaster Services

Hours:  Full-time

Position Objective – To provide staff support to volunteer Disaster Action Teams to ensure immediate response to single family and non-recurrent disasters within the Chapter’s jurisdiction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that processes are developed for responding to all single family and non-recurrent disasters.
  • Fostering good relationships with emergency responders in all communities within the Chapter’s jurisdiction.
  • Identifying, recruiting and training of volunteer workforce and providing administrative support to volunteer leadership.
  • Integrating the Disaster Action Team to the Chapter’s overall disaster planning process.

Qualifications:

Requires bachelor’s degree and two years experience in related areas.  Additional work experience may substitute for education requirement.  Must have ability to effectively communicate both orally and verbally.  Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications and a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.  Familiarity with American Red Cross disaster services policies and procedures highly desirable.
