Description: Writing and designing print materials. Contributing articles for newsletters. Working with media for organizational placement. Special events. Display design and preparation.

As the premiere agency providing relief to victims of disasters and helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies, the American Red Cross offers students interested in the field of public relations an ideal setting for learning the trade. Students who serve internships with the Red Cross have the opportunity to meet the communication needs of individuals living in Dodge, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Racine, Ozaukee, Walworth, and Waukesha counties.

Duration: One semester
Hours: Approximately 15/week
Compensation: Samples of work, real experience and a reference if the student performs well.

The American Red Cross is located at 26th and Wisconsin Avenue.

 Qualifications: The student should be able to write well, take initiative and be creative.
