The Home Depot has given the American Red Cross in Southeastern Wisconsin the opportunity to be at the 2007 Wisconsin State Fair once again. The world’s largest home improvement retailer, The Home Depot, has partnered with the Red Cross in a three-year initiative to educate one million people nationwide on disaster preparedness. As part of this effort, The Home Depot is funding a national grant program for 40 selected chapters in their key major markets. National Headquarters is administering this program and will award $10,000 each to eligible Red Cross chapters for local disaster preparedness projects.

“We are excited to receive this grant from The Home Depot,” says Veronica Carter, State Fair committee member. “And we are anxious to get back out there and educate fair goers on disaster preparedness.”

There will be a mandatory one-hour training volunteers must attend prior to the fair. If you are interested in volunteering at the Red Cross tent at the State Fair, please contact Veronica at 414-342-8680.
