![]() American Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT) members responded to two large apartment fires in two counties during one busy week. On July 13, volunteers responded to an early morning fire at an eight-unit apartment building in Mayville. Members of the Dodge County DAT met with the residents, and provided lodging, food and clothing to residents living in four of the units. Two days later, DAT members in Milwaukee County were called to the scene of another large fire on the city’s northwest side. Volunteers provided shelter that night, and caseworkers met with 10 families the next day. The Red Cross provided food, clothing and bedding to 30 people. The American Red Cross in Southeastern Wisconsin relies on donations of time and money so they can provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies in Dodge, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth and Waukesha counties.
