On December 6, skip the malls and give a different kind of gift, a gift that saves the day. Just look for the American Red Cross at the Fourth Annual Exchange (Alternative) Gift Fair between 1-5 p.m. at Lakefront Brewery.

The fair is a great way to complete your holiday shopping and help the community. An Alternative Gift Fair is a positive holiday experience for everyone, with shoppers honoring friends and relatives with donations to causes that fit their values as an alternative to traditional gift giving.

The Red Cross will be offering gifts at the fair that help disaster victims, members of the Armed Forces and people worldwide. For $50, give a soldier the gift of a few comfort items like a phone card, robe and shower shoes, toiletry items, calendar and an iTunes card. With just $25, you can save 25 children from the leading cause of vaccine preventable death, Measles. To learn more about Red Cross gifts, please visit www.redcross.org/gifts.

The American Red Cross in Southeastern Wisconsin relies on donations of time and money so they can provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies in Dodge, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth and Waukesha counties. To donate your time, please visit our Volunteer page. Financial donations can be made online through our secure contribution site. You can also support the Red Cross online by becoming a fan on our facebook page and following us on Twitter.
