National Preparedness Month

Join the American Red Cross in our partnership with FEMA in helping families to be better prepared!  This year’s slogan, “A Time to Remember, A Time to Prepare”, is fitting for our “Fire Safety/Disaster Preparedness Outreach Neighborhood Canvassing Project “.

Educate City of Milwaukee residents about fire safety and disaster preparedness.  Visit residents of neighborhoods that have recently experienced a fire, bringing about awareness of fire safety tips and how to be better prepared for potential disasters.
Teams go door-to-door distributing Red Cross Fire Safety Doorknob Hangtags and Preparedness brochures.  Engage in conversation with residents about fire safety and disaster preparedness when the opportunity arises.

Date:  Saturday, September 17, 2011
Time:  8 AM – 12 PM
Location:  The beginning and ending location will be at the American Red Cross, 2600 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee

The actual project will take place in various locations throughout the City of Milwaukee where home fires have occurred.
